I am the Director of Teaching and Learning at a public K-8 charter school in Northern California. This means I get to do fun projects with students and teachers focused on curriculum, teacher professional learning, and student learning.

I develop and lead professional learning for my school, helping teachers develop project-based learning and design thinking units, integrate technology and digital citizenship in the classroom, and create opportunities for real-world interactions and projects.

I also designed and implemented a STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics)-focused project-based learning practicum where my colleagues and I worked with 35 teachers from our county to develop teacher leaders and increase teacher and student of integrating STEAM, PBL, and other core content.

For my efforts, I was named Santa Clara County’s Office of Education Charter School Teacher of Year for 2013 and a 2014 Comcast All-Star Teacher. I am also a 2014 Google Certified Innovator, a Common Sense Education Ambassador, and National Geographic Educator.

  1. HI Jessica
I am a principal at an elementary school in Daly City, Ca. I am looking for someone who can meet with my staff to get a better understanding of the Smarter Balanced Assessment. The blue print, how it is graded, etc. are a couple of items we are interested in. Is this something you can help us with?
    Please let me know,
    Jennifer Larocque
